Band/Color Guard students must enroll in the marching band/concert band course.
This course is designed for the study of contemporary marching band performance techniques and to provide opportunities for continued work on “total musicianship." The performance based course culminates in a variety of field and parade performances.
The Marching Band performs at all home football games, a variety of competitions, parades, and school assemblies for approximately the first quarter of the school year (usually until November 1st). The season begins in the summer with Tuesday and Thursday night music rehearsals and a week long band camp regularly scheduled for the last week of July or first week of August. During the school year rehearsals begin at 7:00AM on A-days and on B-days there is a rotating sectional schedule, which begins at 7:00AM. Full band rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from 5:30PM-8:00PM.
